Mr. Auhll founded the Circon Corporation and served as chairman of the board, president and CEO for 30 years. Under his direction, Circon grew to be the largest producer of medical endoscopes and color video systems for minimally invasive surgery in the United States.
His time is now dedicated to supporting education at all levels of our society, whether it is the PAL Board, the Seton School for Developmentally Disabled Children, or the University of Michigan through service on the department’s Industrial Advisory Committee and support to establish the Richard Auhll Professorship of Biomedical Engineering.
Mr. Auhll is a licensed, instrument-rated, solo jet aircraft pilot of his Citation Jet, and is based in Santa Barbara, and Aspen.
